260

You may be thinking what prey tell does that number mean?

It is the number of books that my sweet Conleigh collected to donate to Libraries of Love. We are so proud of her efforts.

Our church focuses our missions efforts during the month of November on collecting books for this group that travels to Uganda each summer to build libraries for the very impoverished children of that country. I helped in Conleigh's Sunday school classroom the day we heard the presentation. Afterwards, we went upstairs and made cards to share with people and try to get books donated. I suggested to Conleigh to take her card to school and ask her teacher if she could make an announcement in her class. Little did we know that her excellent teacher would take Conleigh's action plan and help her make it such a grand success. The two of them start going to the library and cross paths with the principal. The principal asks what they are doing. After Mrs. Ready explains, Mrs. June says, "I think we should put that on the annoucnements!" They proceed to the library and ask Conleigh if she would like to do the announcements (on the TV) on Wednesday. She apparently shook her head no and said, "I'm shy." Discussions continue and the librarian tells Conleigh she could come and watch them do the announcements and then how would Thursday work for her to be on them? She answers yes!
So funny that Wednesday wouldn't work and Thursday would.

Thursday Conleigh & Ms. Manners appear on tv's across the school on the morning announcements. My understanding is that Conleigh was interviewed about her book drive, and she did great! Conleigh decorated a box and put it in the front foyer of the school.

Monday of this week we counted all of the books and the final number was 260! Here are a couple of pictures we took of the excited and proud girl with ALL the books!
