** I am so excited! I just went into my blog posts, and the post I had done for Peter for our anniversary reappared in draft form. Blogger had been on the fritz the day I wrote it and I thought it had gone to never, never land. I am happy to press 'publish post' even if it is a week late. I wrote this on our anniversary.
Happy 10th Anniversary to my main squeeze. I am thankful for 10 years of marriage with the most honest & sincere person I know.
Ten things I love about being married to Peter.
1. He makes me laugh all the time (even at inappropriate jokes).
2. He doesn't know the difference between "mans work" and "woman's work." He just does the work.
3. He is the greatest Dad to our kids. He's always teaching them something in a fun way and is involved in all their activities.
4. He has good perspective and tries to help me keep it too.
5. He likes to learn...about all sorts of topics.
6. He is my technical support. And emotional support, and supports me in every way.
7. He is an amazing cook and a great entertainer.
8. He reminds me that "This is your life not a dress rehearsal, enjoy it."
9. He is a hard worker at work and at home and a great example to our family.
10. He picked me to be his partner through thick & thin 'til the end of our time.
To honor our 10th year of wedded bliss, Peter spent the morning at the doctor with Alex who we suspected had broken his pinky. We were right. The sweet boy is now wearing a splint. We are very thankful to our doctor friend who fit him in this morning, did the x-ray and diagnosed the problem.
As if that wasn't enough excitement, we have Dusty the class guinea pig again this week. He came to us on medicine for an eye infection. Unfortunately, his eye is still goopy following the treatment. Campbell's friend came over this morning in the pouring rain. Her mama happens to have been a zookeeper in a former life. She said we really should have it treated. So.... I call the vet and we're down for $70 of antibiotics for this rodent (that is what the meds say, rodent).
I did have to laugh because apparently the dad who took him to the vet last week didn't know his name was Dusty and he told the vet his name was Rex.
Peter has picked up the medicine and he said it stunk to high heaven in that vet office.
I think Peter's mom is on the way to Austin. She is coming to play in a bridge tourney this weekend. Her partner ended up in the hospital yesterday with high blood pressure, so she is not coming. Sarah has graciously offered to watch the kids tonight so we can go out to dinner to celebrate 10 more years.
