Get Ready for BTS (Back to School) Art Giveaway

I found this giveaway today, ArtSkills supplies. We could all use a little help with prepping for back to school. Looks like a great gaggle of Art supplies. Between my two girls, we could put this stuff to work quick. I'm sure each of you would enjoy winning such lovelies as well. Enter here before you go to bed on July 28. Good luck to all of us, and I hope one of us wins!

Lovely Saturday

We had such a lovely Saturday. While all the other Shark families were out sweating at the divisonal meet, we made it a family day. I had gone to bed at 7:30 on Friday night. I just couldn't keep my eyes open a minute longer. Having gone to bed so early, I was awake early on Saturday morning. I decided to hunt at some garage sales. It was a nice little solo outing

When I got home, the troops were up and we decided to go out to a new church that our church helped 'plant.' They have a community garden and were going to bless the garden. It was super H.O.T. but the kids got to pick some squash, zuchhini and sweet peas.

Since we were out further from Austin that we usually travel, we decided to try a new pool at the YMCA out there. It was great! A super nice facility and a terrific pool. There were two slides and the kids went down them about 20 times. The kids were required to do a swim test in order to use the slides. Even Campbell decided to truck her little body across that pool, so she could use the slide too. It wasn't a breezy swim and she didn't quite make it on her first try, so she had to do it again. And do it she did. She has become quite the fish lately.

After a good long swim, we came home to take it easy for a while. I had made the mistake of saying we could go to the neighborhood pool later. Alex held me to it and we ended up there in the evening. It was just a wonderful family day. I loved it!

Quotes by Campbell...

Campbell: "Mom, I want to be a mom now."

Me: "What does that mean to you, Campbell?"

Campbell: "Mom, when I'm five, can I use a sharp knife?"

The end.

Swim Team - Check

We finished our swim season on Tuesday night vs. the Round Rock Dolphins. I loved having a night meet especially because Peter & I were timers the second half and the moon is a lot cooler than the sun on a Saturday afternoon. This was a make up meet due to all the rain early in July.

Our Sharks.
Conleigh managed to get two seventh place ribbons this season. One for 25 butterfly and one for 25 free. She was the fastest 7 year old on the team. Most of the people on our team who placed above her were already 8. One of the relay teams she was on got a 3rd place ribbon too.
Alex got two 10th place ribbons this season. Both were for 25 free. Happily, they both want to do it again next summer. Campbell will just miss the age requirement, but if we can get her up to speed, we may give it a try next summer. We'll see...

Oil

It rolled in this afternoon. You could see it in the surf. The beach and water emptied. Instead of jumping the waves Wednesday evening,
our environmentalist kids got to work and picked up tar.

I've had enough of this say Ryan & Campbell. Let's see who can eat popsicles the fastest!
