Hiking with Daddy

Every school day for over a year we have passed St. Edward's park on the way to preschool. Peter has been wanting to take the children on a hike there. He finally did it, and it looks like a fun time was had by all. Mommy was absent from the fun.

Family Camp

We love the HEB Foundation camp. This year was our fifth year to attend our church retreat near Hunt, Texas on the Frio River. Many of our friends and their children were also there and it was a terrific weekend.
This year we aged out of having our own little family cabin. The girls bunked with me in an all girls cabin. I guess there were about 15 women & children in our Taj Mahal as we were told it was. It was definitely one of the nicer cabins and I was glad to be in it. Conleigh slept on the top bunk and Campbell did the curtain call on our pack & play. I'm sure that is the end of her time using it, but it did work well.
Peter & Alex slept in the not so new men's cabin. Alex was with his buddy Jack. Those two little boys scooted everywhere on their scooters all weekend. Alex now has a scooter like Jack and wants to go to the park daily to give it a whirl.

The beauty of the camp shows God's hands everywhere. It is so peaceful and beautiful. You cannot help but relax and realize how much you have to be thankful for.
Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend.

Lakeside Living

We just had a great and relaxing getaway with our dear friends, the Lin's. They are soon to be Californians, so this may have been our last rendezvous until we can make our way to visit them in San Diego We spent a long weekend at Cedar Creek lake near Corsicana/Dallas. Peter's dad & stepmother have a lake house there. We have had such beautiful weather in March until last Thursday. It stayed super cold and ugly rainy until this morning when we were packing to leave. The weather didn't stop Conleigh from writing this most precious note to leave for her grandparents. They will be going up the lake house next weekend.
We celebrated Brandon Lin's 5th birthday. He was very happy to be celebrating at the lake. The kids had a blast catching fish. One fish even took the pole into the lake. Our strong abled men, Peter & Kevin, were able to retrieve it..

The kids played with bubbles and played all sorts of made up games. There is a pool table in the house too so that supplied plenty of creative games as well.

Six on the 6th!

What a great celebration we had of Conleigh's six years on this planet and deep in our hearts. She went to school on Friday and then we opened presents before we headed to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday dinner.
Our little gymnast was thrilled with rings we got her for our swingset. She loves doing the rings during gymnastics class, so these will be enjoyed here at home. She also got more beloved Peek-A-Boo barbies and some new pajamas.
We had a wonderful time at Chuck E Cheese. The kids loved playing all the games and it was a night filled with fun!
Saturday we kicked off the soccer season. The Gazelles did a great job, and Conleigh was excellent at defense according to her coach. She was excited to come home for the party.
We had 16 of her 'closest' friends help us celebrate on Saturday afternoon. Our theme was Spring Fling Pajama party, so everyone was wearing their cutest, most flexible pajamas. The jump house that is a staple at our parties was present. Kids had a great time on the swingset and the jump house. It was pretty windy, so our pot painting took place inside. Boy, do six year olds know how to put some paint on flower pots. They were covered! So covered, that they weren't dry enough to plant the soil and bulbs before the end of the party. It was quite a site to see Grandpa Grandpa Hardin blow drying pots in the backyard. :)Yummy cake was enjoyed by one and all, and I think it is safe to say that the party was a hit! Conleigh received such nice toys from her friends and some great new spring clothes from her grandparents who were all here for part of the day.
BFF's, Katie & Grace stayed and spent the night on Saturday. Fun times!
