Snow in Austin!

The most snow I have ever seen fall. EVER!
It has been exciting for all of us. The kids were gung-ho snow man until all of our hands got too cold -too fast. We have a couple of piles in the yard and carrots and raisins lying there waiting to be eyes and a nose.

School has been delayed for tomorrow morning. I am really surprised with how spot-on the weather folks were this time around. Big half dollar size flurries have fallen several times today.

Gotcha Dad
Snow bunny.

I'm hosting bunko tonight and we've had a few cancel. People are all over Austin and I wouldn't want to get too far from home either, so I completely understand the situation. Soups on tonight though. Stay warm!

Who's sleeping where?

As Peter got ready to go to bed this evening, this is where we found the children... Alex: his own bed.
Campbell: our bed, sacked out.
Conleigh: hallway? She had even pulled out the crib mattress and gotten pillows from our room.

A little "Home Improvement"

We had a fun Saturday night with our Sunday school friends. Our class is called Home Improvement. We went to supper club. Usually, people divide and go to various homes and have small groups, but Paul was celebrating his birthday, so his wife decided she wanted everyone to come to their house. We had 20+ people, fajitas and lots of laughs.

Peter & I are thankful for our church and Sunday school friends.

perfume

Campbell just wandered into the family room carrying a small bottle & announced to me that she is "allergic to perfume."

A couple of notes:

1. She was tucked in 20+ minutes ago.
2. She smells very good.

Here are her comments:

"Mom, when I spray it on my chin, it hurts."

"When I spray it on my hand, it hurts."

"Mom! When I spray it on my eye, it hurts."

Learn something new everyday.

Random Thought

The scale is not my friend. Today I was gritting my teeth and trying to do these crazy squats with weights on my shoulders. My trainer guy is encouraging me. I look over and to my right is Marion Jones, former Olympian. I felt a little pathetic complaining about my 30 squats when I can't imagine the training she went through to compete as an olympic athlete.

The poor woman has a shadow cast over her since being found guilty of using steroids for her races. She has paid for that, dearly. All the medals she won are gone. I know she didn't just do steroids and win races. She trained vigilantly as well. Man, working out is hard.

Dimples, Pimples and Nipples

What could this title mean? It meant a funny dinner conversation.

I think it started with me ooh'ing and aahh'ing over Alex's precious dimple on his left cheek. It is so cute. He says, "what is a dimple?" Peter gives a big cheesy grin and points to his dimples which are close to covered with his "I'm growing a beard/go-tee until Lent" facial hair growth.

Conleigh chimes in with "I know what a dimple is. My student teacher has one right here." And she points to the side of her nose.

"Not a pimple, a dimple," Peter replies.

Campbell promptly lifts her shirt up and says, "I know what a dimple is," and she points to her nipples. Nice!

Valentine prep

I have to admit I'm pretty impressed with our creative Valentines. Check it out...lollipop cookies. Super easy. Super cute and super done two days before the school parties. Yay!
This second picture won't rotate, but you get the idea. Alex wrote his name 15 times.
