Remind me not to volunteer to help with the auction item in the future. Geez. First, another mom in our class told me that the below wasn't art. Then a friend called me who was setting up the auction and said the Principal was carrying it around - that she loved it.
We started the biddging at $40. I thought that would get some interest. The very first person marked out the $40 and bid $100. She bid yesterday right when the auction opened.
I said to her half way through the carnival, "you're going to buy our art." She said, "I can't believe that no parents in that class are going to buy it." So, she won.
After the carnival, I hear her saying to her husband, "Well, I didn't think I was going to win it!"
Such a bummer. I think $100 was a great donation for the school. I'm not surprised that it didn't go higher. It would have been fun to see the bidding go back & forth between people, but it wasn't to be. The biggest disappointment is that the person who got it doesn't even seem to be happy to have it.
